Camper Code of Conduct

Campers at Science Camps of America

Science Camps of America is committed to providing all campers with a safe and inclusive environment.
All campers are expected to follow this Code of Conduct:

  • Be respectful of yourself and others.

  • Follow all camp rules and regulations.

  • Be honest and trustworthy.

  • Be responsible for your actions.

  • Be a team player.

  • Help to create a positive and welcoming environment for everyone.

Specifically, this means that campers will not:

  • Engage in any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination.

  • Use drugs or alcohol.

  • Bring weapons or other dangerous items to camp.

  • Vandalize property.

  • Refuse to follow the instructions of staff members.

  • Engage in any other behavior that is disruptive or unsafe.

Campers who violate the Code of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from camp.

All campers have the right to learn and grow in a safe and supportive environment. Following this Code of Conduct, we can create a camp where everyone can thrive.

Here are some additional details about the Code of Conduct:

  • Respect: Campers should treat each other with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or ability. This means being kind, considerate, and understanding. It also means avoiding name-calling, bullying, and harassment.

  • Rules and regulations: Campers are expected to follow all camp rules and regulations. These rules are in place to keep everyone safe and to ensure a positive experience at camp.

  • Honesty and trustworthiness: Campers are expected to be honest and trustworthy. This means telling the truth, keeping promises, and respecting the property of others.

  • Responsibility: Campers are responsible for their actions. This means taking responsibility for their mistakes, cleaning up after themselves, and behaving in a safe and respectful way.

  • Teamwork: Campers are expected to be team players. This means working together with others, helping each other out, and supporting each other's success.

  • Positive and welcoming environment: Campers are expected to help create a positive and welcoming environment for everyone. This means being friendly, inclusive, and respectful of others.

By following this Code of Conduct, campers can create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone can learn and grow.
