Two Sessions:

 

Session 1:

EARTH Camp:
  Land & Sea

June 10-14 8:30 - 3:30 M-F

Campers make ice cream using liquid nitrogen

Explore the sciences of islands, continents, and oceans. Activities are hands-on and provide a fun way to learn about the world around you. You'll grow plants, extract DNA, discover more about volcanoes, forests, the ocean and the creatures that live in them, and learn more about how we can care for this amazing planet, Earth.   

Explore questions like: 

How do sea mammals stay warm in cold waters?
Why do some plants have flowers?
How were the Hawaiian Islands formed?
What can I do to help the environment?

Session 2:

EARTH Camp:
  Air & Space

June 17-21 8:30 - 3:30 M-F

Explore the sciences of the atmosphere, astronomy, and space exploration. Activities are hands-on and provide a fun way to learn. You'll design a Mars lander, build and launch model rockets, learn about the life cycles of stars, Hawaiian Voyaging and navigation, and much, much more. 

  

How do you land on a planet with little or no atmosphere?
Why is the sky blue?
Why does the sun look red at sundown?
What makes a rocket go?
How do you become an astronaut?

 

Registration

Registration fee is $245 per session or $215 for students who qualify for the National School Lunch Program (use promo code RR99Q) or are from an active military duty family (use promo code KUY77). Camp Activities

Activities at camp are designed to be interactive, fun, and to provide opportunities for campers to use their imagination and gain skills to learn about Earth science through the lenses of land, sea, air, and space.

Camp Leadership

Michael RichardsEARTH Camp: Land,Sea,Air,Space is led by Michael Richards, Executive Director for Science Camps of America. Michael is one of the founders of Science Camps of America and has been a Camp Director since 2013. Michael will bring all of his experience and expertise to EARTH Camp this summer.
